Date of event: Sat 21st Oct 17
Type of event: Local (D)
Nearest town: Hebden Bridge
Club Championships - 1 hour score course for all on Midgley Moor near Hebden Bridge. Mass start at 11:00AM sharp! Anyone can win as there are handicap bonuses by age and gender to even up the field. See chart.
This is a closed event for PFO club members, however all-comers, guests and friends may participate for a modest fee of £5.
Midgley Moor is managed heather moorland, with many rock, contour and water details. There are also areas of quarry workings. It's ideal for the club champs as most PFO members will be unfamiliar with the terrain.
The event will be followed by the prize-giving and social get-together at the nearby Hare & Hounds. Meals and drinks are available, but to help the chef please pre-order your meal when you register for the event.
Registration will be inside the Hare & Hounds pub at Lane Ends (HX7 8TN) between 10:00-10:30am. They will kindly open up for us, which will also give you a chance to look at the menu and order your lunch before running. Please park along the adjacent roads rather than in the car park - there is plenty of space along the verge down Lane Ends Lane and up Nook Lane. At 10:40am, we will walk en masse from the pub to the start, which is 10-15 minutes away on the edge of the moor.
Good luck everyone!
