Due to a fault in our download box, 4 dibbers would not record. Whilst we have now solved this problem for future events, this will not rectify the Stubbylee problem. With apologies to the four competitors affected, the results are now published, excluding the four.
Course splits are shown individually by course.
All competitors enjoyed this new area and found the courses needed close attention at all tiimes. More like a sprint than a classic event. The writer mis-punched twice, but rectified the mistake, to finish down the field.
Light Green winning time is likely to be around 17 minutes.
Or thanks to Mary and Jim for planning the courses. Well done!
Original event information, below here.
PFO Intro Series, event 2 of 4. Stubbylee & Moorland Parks, Bacup.
This area, new to orienteering, comprises two adjacent parks with the usual mix of paths, buildings, play areas, grassland and woodland. In addition there are some unusual contour, rock and water features. Courses are short, of necessity, but this is offset by a lot more controls to find than normal.
Light Green includes butterfly loops and could be used as good practice for spint orienteers. How fast can you run Light Green?
In the park there will be other visitors including children and dogs. Please be couteous and always give way.

Info for dog owners
No dogs on courses. You may exercise your dogs at parking, registration and in the competition area after your run. Usual rules apply.
No facilities at parking.
However, immediately opposite is the Sand Witch cafe. Sit in or take away, drinks, sandwiches (of course) or something more substantial. Open Saturdays from early.
There is a public toilet in the park, but it is in the competition area. If you can hold on till after your run, that would be best. Ask for directions at the Start.
