The PFO vs SELOC bowling match has been rescheduled for Sunday 29th September 2019
This year welcomes a return to the PFO vs SELOC crown green bowling match.
The intention is to hold the PFO Club Champs in the Burnley area on Sunday 22nd September, but we are currently awaiting permission to be granted by Burnley council.
In the meantime pencil this date in your diary, if permission isn't granted in the next couple of weeks the event will be re-scheduled for later in the year.
The winner gets to take the Club Champs trophy (aka 'the liver') home and to plan next years event.
The Orienteering Foundation will be holding another Lakes Coaching Day at Haverthwaite Heights on Saturday 23 November 2019.
A handful of PFO members participated in the last session and found it very beneficial with a great opportunity to train in Lakeland terrain.
Further details of this event are here.
We will probably arrange to go as a group which will enable us to tailor the training to the needs of those attending.
PFO weekly club nights have now finished for summer.
PFO Juniors achieve 2nd place in the Yvette Baker Shield finals.
Yet again we had wonderful weather for the 4th in our introduction to orienteering session in Towneley Park, Burnley.
This was the last week of the series, but we will endeavour to do something similar later in the year.

Orienteering is a challenging outdoor adventure sport that exercises both the mind and the body. The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.
