Stubbylee & Moorland Parks map
There are two adjacent parks with the usual mix of paths, buildings, play areas, grassland and woodland. In addition there are some unusual contour, rock and water features. The main parks offer fast running, but there is a steep wooded escarpment to the west.
The parks have a rich history, previously being owned by the Holt family and then local mill owners the Maden family. Their former home, the prominent Stubbylee Hall in the centre of the park is Grade II listed. Recent ground works have added new features to the area including a BMX course.
The park is also home to the Stubbylee Community Greenhouses and the new cafe. Both are staffed by volunteer trainees.
