Local level event
Explanation of Event levels
- Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport.
- Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Most clubs run some 'mini series' throughout the year as local mid week events.
- Regional events attract participants from around the local Region.
- National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away,
- Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships or the annual JK competition.

Directions / Parking
The event centre for Letcliffe Park is at The Greyhound pub, 61 Manchester Road, Barnoldswick, BB18 5PW. ///send.nooks.duke
Best approach from the south is M65 -> Colne -> Kelbrook -> Barnoldswick.
The first 10 vehicles to arrive will be parked in the garden centre immediately next to The Greyhound. Follow directions. Thereafter, parking will be on local reidential streets. Be aware that it is also quiz night at The Greyhound, so early arrival is recommended to get the pick of the parking spaces.
Dibber issue and Download will be in the covered yard at the rear of the pub. Access is through the bar, not around the back of the pub.
Start: Follow tapes 250m up the road, up steep and narrow steps on your left, then right to the Start at the park entrance.
Finish: Exit the park gate onto the road (take care, road is narrow at this point), follow the road downhill 250m to the pub.
Map / Terrain
Letcliffe Park (a new area for PFO) slopes steeply uphill from north to south. It is mapped at 1:2000 on A4. The area is classic parkland but with some unusual features and quirky control sites.
Take care on steep and mossy paths after rain. They may be slippery. Most steep paths have a handrail - use it!
