Local level event
Explanation of Event levels
- Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport.
- Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Most clubs run some 'mini series' throughout the year as local mid week events.
- Regional events attract participants from around the local Region.
- National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away,
- Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships or the annual JK competition.

Club Championships 2018: William Ellis won this year's PFO Club Championships, with a score of 230 points, much to the dismay of the club Chair - Judith Wood. William (who was also Club Champ in 2015) won by the narrowest of margins - one point ! William, as champion, now has the honour of planning next years PFO Championship course.
Other prizes:
First adult female, and PFO Women's Champ, was Judith Wood - 229 points.
First non-PFO competitor, was Cath Wilson SELOC - 220 points
First adult male PFO member was Andy Ellis - 205 points.
The winner of the 2018 "Toffee Prize" was Graham Denny of SAXONS, who travelled the furthest to take part. All the way from Kent!
Following the event, members and friends met at the Peel Park Hotel (a pub!) for pie & peas (until they ran out), route choice analysis and social.
Any guesses for where next year's event will be?

==========================================
1 hour score course for all at Peel Park, Accrington. Mass start at 11:00AM sharp! Anyone can win as there are handicap bonuses by age and gender to even up the field. See chart below.
This is a championship event for PFO club members, however all-comers, guests and friends may participate for a modest fee of £5 adult / £2 juniors + dibber hire £1..
Peel Park is a small but very varied area. There is a good path network, with some patches of parkland, mixed with conifer woods, deciduous woods, scrubland, open moorland, contours, water features and curious ditches. It's ideal for the club champs as there is terrain for every age and ability.
The event will be followed by the prize-giving and social get-together at the nearby Peel Park Hotel (actually it is a pub!), about 400m from the Start & Finish.
Registration will be in the car park of the Peel Park Hotel (its a pub!), Turkey St, Accrington, BB5 6EW between 10:15-10:45am.
The pub does not open until 12:00 noon, conveniently just as our champs is finishing. Download will be in the pub (no muddy shoes please). Thereafter drinks and meals can be ordered at the bar (usual pub grub), then there will be a short prize giving Men's Champ, Women's Champ and any special prizes for who knows what!
You may park in the pub car park as a patron of the pub, otherwise use local street parking. At 10:45am, we will walk en masse from the pub to the Start, which is approximately 10 minutes away.
Good luck everyone!
