Regional level event

Explanation of Event levels

  • Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport.
  • Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Most clubs run some 'mini series' throughout the year as local mid week events.
  • Regional events attract participants from around the local Region.
  • National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away,
  • Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships or the annual JK competition.

Directions / Parking

UPDATE FRIDAY 12th

Temporary traffic lights on A646 just west of Hebden Bridge town centre causing long delays.

Consider alternative route to Todmoden if possible.

Parking: Will be within Todmorden High school grounds. Please turn off the main Todmorden-Burnley road A646 onto Ewood lane and park through the school gates as directed by marshalls. The route to the start will be along the main road a short distance and into the park. (5 minutes) Please make sure juniors are accompanied to the Start and take care, as the area is likely to be busy with traffic to the adjacent swimming baths and with Park runner traffic. Junior courses will be in the Park and school grounds and will not need to cross the main road. For adults, please take care crossing the Main Road whilst on your course as these crossing points will not be manned in order to give more route choice variety.

Map / Terrain

Map 1:4000 (1:5000 for courses 1 and 2) drawn to ISSprOM2019. Updated 2023 by Alasdair Pedley EPOC, to whom we are grateful.

A good mix of urban landscape, including a few surprises: town cente, market place, canal, rail hub, formal/informal parkland and residential spaces. Steep around the fringes!

Registration and Start times

Starts: 10:30 to 12:00.

Courses close at 2 pm, at which point, we may begin collecting controls.

Please ALWAYS report to the Finish/Download whether you complete your course or not, so that we can ensure you are safely back.

Car keys can be left at Download, especially for those competitors travelling alone as an additional safety check.

Course Information
