Map and terrain
Street-O competition is on local streets, main roads, parks, ginnels, semi-rural areas and footpaths. You can choose either a 60 minutes score or a 75 minutes score aimed at faster runners.

Trawden, a small village set in a valley to the SE foot of Colne, offers early Autumn trails (and a few streets!), great views and some interesting history! Courses will be heading northwards, as will the elevation, back towards Colne and including Ball Grove Park - expect plenty of route choice amongst the trails! A great mix of streets and trails to celebrate the end of summer (what summer!).
For the trail-centred nature of this event - trail shoes are recommended and some trails will be wet if local weather lives up to expectation!

Each individual or team will be issued with one Dibber (if hired), one clue/answer sheet (both issued pre-Start) and one course map (issued at the Start). Example maps and clue sheets of previous events will be available to view.
Scoring: Controls are numbered 10 to 64. The first digit multiplied by 10 is the score value. Thus there are 10 x 10 points controls, 10 x 20, 10 x 30, 10 x 40, 10 x 50 and 5 x 60. The higher the score value, the greater the distance and/or difficulty. Penalties: Your course time limit is either 75 minutes or 60 minutes depending on which course you entered. Thereafter, 1 penalty point will be deducted for each 3 seconds you are late, equivalent to 20 points deducted per minute late.

Insurance: From 1st January 2026, participants who are not members of British Orienteering will no longer be covered by British Orienteering's public liability insurance. By entering any event from 1st January 2026, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. British Orienteering's public liability insurance used to cover non-members at events before this date.
