Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

  • Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport.
  • Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Most clubs run some 'mini series' throughout the year as local mid week events.
  • Regional events attract participants from around the local Region.
  • National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away,
  • Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships or the annual JK competition.

Planner's Comments:

Tough one this. We have been aware for sometime that the northern part of the Witton Park map (Billinge Hill) was a bit askew and vegetation was out of date. Much has changed since the first OCAD map from the 2000s. Path alignment, location of features and runnability all needed correction. However, none of the above changes affects the tough nature of the terrain. Steep in places, impassable in others and sometimes both. This update is just part of the improvement to the whole Witton map.

The objective for MAXI and MIDI was to have a good variety of controls in interesting places without repetition of route choice. I hope I succeeded.

For MINI Orange, I admit that 2 or 3 controls were more Light Green than Orange, for which I appologise. However, the route did vistit some interesting terrain with route choice andworthy of your visit.

Next week: Towneley Park will have fewer contours than either last week or this! Entries close on Monday 20th at midnight. Enter here.
