Local level event

Explanation of Event levels

  • Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport.
  • Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Most clubs run some 'mini series' throughout the year as local mid week events.
  • Regional events attract participants from around the local Region.
  • National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away,
  • Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships or the annual JK competition.

Planners' Comments:

Thank you to all who attended last night's Ratchet/teenage party at Towneley! It was a bit of a surprise when putting controls out just how much the vegetation had grown since the last site check two weeks back, so we hope the nettle stings have calmed down a bit by now! It's always a bit difficult planning an area which is used for club nights and events and trying to find some different areas and control sites, but the latest addition of the golf course and the woods surrounding it seem to have helped with interesting bits and bobs!

Thanks to all the people that helped throughout on SI/Control collection and everything in between. It was a great atmosphere, probably aided by the 'yoof' in their droves and their boombox after-exams party. Though in their droves they were a pleasant bunch if you don't mind having a chat with them - spot the ex school teacher!
We hope that the many new faces we saw last night all had a positive experience and will come back for more. As ever we are always welcome and willing to help new people into the sport regardless of age, ability and experience. You are warmly welcomed by the club.

Kay Hawk and Emma Taylor - planners.
