Yet again we had wonderful weather for the 4th in our introduction to orienteering session in Towneley Park, Burnley.
This was the last week of the series, but we will endeavour to do something similar later in the year.

Urban Orienteering Leagues

There are a number of Orienteering leagues that run throughout the year which are well worth participating in.
The scoring for each of these is based upon your best ‘x’ places out of ‘y’ events so you don’t need to do all the events to stand a reasonable chance of finishing fairly high up the table.
North West Urban League

The NWUL was re-started last year (2017) after lapsing for a few years.

Urban Orienteering
There are a growing number of Urban Orienteering races across the country with various leagues having being established.
North West Orienteering Association badge award scheme
The NWOA have re-launched their Colour Badge Scheme, which recognises the progression of orienteers through colour coded events from WHITE to LIGHT GREEN.
